Report of Parish Council Meeting – Jan 5th 2010

Memorial Hall – The plans for the alterations to the Hall have now been modified to incorporate the suggestions made by Parish Councillors. Everyone was happy with the new plans, and a planning application will be made soon.

The Play Area – The quotation from Paul Will to replace the stones with tarmac was accepted.

The Recreation Ground – the Parish Council will pay for an Architect to produce plans for a Sports Pavilion to be used by the Tennis Club, the Football Club and the Bowling Club when the bowling green is in place.

Speed Limits at Shakeford have been requested, but unfortunately Shakeford does not comply with the criteria for a 40 MPH speed limit. However, Shropshire Council has agreed to erect “Shakeford “signs and to apply a non skid surface to the bad bend. The Parish Council will then monitor the situation.

Dog Fouling – warning letters have been sent by the Dog Warden to all residents in the School and Recreation Ground areas.

Telephone Box outside the Post Office – BT and Shropshire Council have now agreed that this phone box can be removed.

Police Report – PC Sturland has requested that all Parishes purchase Police Post Boxes, so that Parishioners can communicate with the Local Police.

Parish Plan – questionnaires will be sent to every household in the Parish shortly.

Bonfires – Friends of the Earth have written to complain about an illegal bonfire by Pixley Lane.
