Report of Parish Council Meeting – Tuesday November 2nd 2010 The Edwards Transport sign is now in place, and Edwards Transport has offered to pay for it. Memorial Hall Windows – The Supplier has now given a better quote in the sum of 2352.98. Councillors agreed to pay half, if the Memorial Hall Committee go ahead with this quote. Lighting at the 5-a-side football pitch and the Walk way – a quote for separate security meters has been received, in the sum of 593.19, and it was agreed to go ahead with this. It was also agreed that a secure cupboard for the meters in the Memorial Hall is needed. The Litter Bin for the Youth Shelter should be in place very soon. The Millennium Stone on the playground - a quote for the plastic plaque has been received, but Councillors would like to see a sample before placing the order. The War Memorial – the work should be done in time for November 14th 2010. Shropshire Council has declined to supply double yellow lines on either side of Manor Farm Drive down to the halt sign, as no accidents have been reported there. The bus shelter by the Chestnuts has been damaged by children climbing on the roof and removing tiles. It was agreed to find out if the Parish Council is responsible for repairs. It was also agreed to put up a sign warning of the dangers of climbing on the bus shelter. Mr Baxter attended the Meeting to explain the precautions he takes when he has deliveries of bird seed. He is always present himself and he puts bollards on the road to warn motorists. He suggested that part of the problem is motorists driving too fast. It was agreed to contact P.C.Sturland and request that he monitors traffic between the School and Holly House as often as possible, and preferably with a speed gun. Planning - permission has been granted in respect of Shrubbery Cottage, and also for two bungalows on land by The Old Rectory. Recreation Ground - Mr Lovatt, who has been grounds man of the Recreation Ground for many years, has recently died. It was agreed to invite tenders for the work. Football Pitch – someone has driven a car across the pitch causing considerable damage. It was agreed to purchase a padlock and chain for the gate to prevent it happening again. Complaints have been received about mud on Wood Lane. The Clerk will speak to the farmer concerned, and request clearer warning signs. |
