Report of Parish Council Meeting – Tuesday November 3rd 2011

Mr Johnathan Hollinshead from Goldstone Nurseries attended the Meeting to request the support of the Parish Council in his application for a single dwelling Exception Site.

Sue Lowe from Shropshire Council spoke about the new Community Infrastructure Levy which applies to all new developments, including single dwellings.
The Parish should receive a share of the Levy, to spend in the Parish. It should be in place by January 2012.

Alternative extensions for the Memorial Hall
Councillor Balchin has obtained a quotation for a Porta-Cabin extension to the Hall. This could work out slightly cheaper than a brick built extension, but would not be eligible for grants.

The Public Meeting to discuss the extension is to be held on November 29th 2011, and the Parish Council hopes that as many Parishioners as possible will attend, to discuss the future of the Memorial Hall
In the meantime the Memorial Hall Committee is continuing to apply for grants.

Veola Environment Services intend to remove the plastic collection banks from the Memorial Hall car park, and supply a new one to collect cardboard, as householders will not be able to put cardboard on the green wheely bins in future.

Mill Green – Parishioners from Mill Green had a successful site meeting with officers from Shropshire Council, and traffic is currently being monitored.

The Parish Plan is now completed, and ready for printing. It was agreed to print 75 copies, and the Plan will also be put on the website.

Septic tanks – every one in the Parish who has a septic tank must register it with the Environment Agency.

Drinking water – the Parish Council has received two complaints about excessive chlorine in the tap water. The Council would like to hear from anyone else who has had problems.
Please contact any Councillor, or the Clerk on 01952 840331.

One of the cycle ramps has been vandalised. The police have been informed, but if anyone has any information about the culprits the Parish Council will be very grateful.

The Village Initiative Group intends to plant a tree in the parish in memory of Mr Colin Brierley, who died recently.
