Hinstock Parish Council would like to thank everyone that attended the open meeting on Thursday 10th June 2010. The council have submitted their response form to Shropshire council regarding Site allocation and management of development. At our next parish council meeting the form will be ratified. All parishioners are welcome to come and listen or view it on the website or notice board. At the meeting a few questions were asked by parishioners and below are the council’s collective response. Due to financial constraints we are unable to write to the whole village on development matters, but through the communication links we have within the village, we feel that information is accessible. We have a notice board at the memorial hall; a parish council website and we also use the village newsletters to promulgate information. In regard to planning, Shropshire Council issue compulsory notices regarding developments and send letters to resident who are in close proximity. You can access the planning portal via the parish council’s website or direct through Shropshire Council’s website. As in the past, if large development takes place, open meetings will be held for all parishioners to voice their opinions. When completing the response form the Parish Council took into consideration the concerns expressed regarding future development. Previously we have had no say into the density of houses per hectare, but the changes that have recently affected planning will allow new development sites to have fewer houses per hectare; bigger gardens; more parking provisions and open space within each scheme. Regarding strategy of economic/commercial development, Hinstock Parish Council would like this to be within the Market towns of North West Shropshire. We have asked for the maximum amount of employment development.
